Hosting a Successful doTERRA Event
Since the inception of the company, the leaders of dōTERRA have found a few basic formats that are most successful for home and business settings. You'll find information below about suggested topics – but don’t let these limit your thinking! If you have an idea for a class, let’s see if we can help you put something together.
Home Events
A gathering of 3 – 10 people held in your living room or kitchen. Presentation is usually designed to introduce guests to essential oils and suggest their first steps to incorporate them into their health. This event usually lasts 1-1.5 hours. Presenter brings equipment and paperwork needed, and oils to share unless host is already enrolled. Goal of the event: Educate, Experience & Enroll. This event is used to secure additional events hosted by guests.
Theme Ideas
- Natural Solutions Kit – the oils and products every household needs for natural health & wellbeing
- Home Spa Party – custom combining essential oils with lotions & bath products (Sample Flyer)
- Cooking with Essential Oils – learning how essential oils can be ingested for health benefit
- Doggone Fun – using essential oils with your dog for natural health solutions
- Essential Skin Care – introducing the dōTERRA natural skin care line
- Back to School with Essential Oils – healthy ways to keep the kids well. (For example, you could create your own Healthy Kids kit)
Business Setting Events
A gathering of as many people as will fit in the space you have. This can be a small conference room, a lobby, inside a store, or a large ballroom. Presentation lasts no more than 1 hour with time for Q&A afterward to total about 1.5 hours. Best Practices are that where applicable, many IPCs will bring their friends/prospective wholesale buyers to the event and that the WA teaching the event is joined by other WAs who help address the individual attendees questions and needs at the end of the presentation. Goal of the event: Educate, Experience & Enroll. This event is intended to add new WAs to your team.
Event Checklist
This checklist is a guide on what to bring to an upcoming class/event. These items are optional and you can select item(s) that you would bring with you. Most of these can be ordered through
Our suggestion is you laminate sheets you plan to reuse and label items with your name and contact information. If you don’t want someone to walk away with a guide, label it “your company’s name”.
Be prepared to create your 1 minute introduction with your experience/your story. Think about setting up your goal(s) before the event, set a vision and make it happen.
